By accessing or using VR Eddie ("vreddie.com", "the Site", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Site.
VR Eddie is an AI-powered virtual reality review, recommendation, membership, and merchandise platform. We aggregate community sentiment data from public sources including Reddit, YouTube, Steam, the Meta Quest Store, and social media to generate VR Eddie Ratings — a composite score from 0 to 100 reflecting how the community feels about VR headsets, games, and experiences.
The Site includes free editorial content and tools such as the headset comparison tool and recommendation quiz. The newsletter is not currently sending. We also offer optional paid memberships through our membership plans and official products through our merch store.
Certain features of the Site, including memberships, merch orders, dashboards, and support tools, may require you to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.

All content on VR Eddie — including text, graphics, logos, the VR Eddie Rating system, and software — is the property of VR Eddie or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without express written permission.
The VR Eddie Rating is an aggregate metric derived from publicly available community data. Individual product names, logos, and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Some VR Eddie offerings require payment. Prices, billing intervals, shipping charges, taxes, availability, and other purchase details are shown on the Site or at checkout at the time of purchase.
Paid memberships are sold as recurring subscriptions unless otherwise stated at checkout. You can manage billing details or cancel a membership from your account dashboard through Stripe's secure billing portal.
Merchandise orders are subject to product availability and may be fulfilled by third-party production or shipping partners. Some items may be identified as preorders with estimated ship dates. Eligible merch returns must be initiated within 30 days of purchase through our support channels.
VR Eddie participates in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Associates Program and the Meta Referral Program. When you purchase through our affiliate links, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence our ratings, which are derived from community sentiment data.
The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. VR Eddie does not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. VR Eddie Ratings are informational and should not be the sole basis for purchasing decisions.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, VR Eddie and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Site, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory.
The companion experience at /launch is a beta. It changes often, it can be withdrawn, and it is offered without any promise of availability.
Your own API key, or our free tier.You may supply your own model-provider key (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, xAI or OpenRouter; Gemini is for adults only, and that limit is presently your responsibility rather than something the software enforces). With your own key, your conversations are sent to that provider under your own account, and your agreement with that provider — including its retention and acceptable-use terms — governs them; you are responsible for the cost and the use of your key. Without a key, Eddie runs on a free tier on our own Google Gemini account, and Google's terms for our account govern that conversation. We do not resell inference and we do not charge for it.
Who it is for.VR Eddie is made for people aged 18 and over. We do not ask your age and we do not verify it; nothing in VR Eddie is built to require it, and by using it you confirm you are 18 or older. You must not let anyone under 18 use a Google Gemini key through your session: Google's API terms do not permit services likely to be accessed by under-18s. This is a rule you are agreeing to, not yet a restriction the software applies for you.
Eddie is not a professional. He is an AI character. He is not a doctor, therapist, lawyer, or financial adviser, and nothing he says is professional advice. He is sometimes wrong, including when he sounds certain. Do not rely on him for anything that matters without checking it. If you are in crisis, see Safety for real resources.
Your content and your storage. Things you build and things Eddie remembers are written to your own Google Drive under a permission scoped to files this application created. They are yours. You may delete them at any time without involving us, and we do not claim ownership of them.
Acceptable use.Section 4 applies to the companion as it does to the rest of the Site. In addition: do not use Eddie to generate sexual content, to harass anyone, or to attempt to extract another user's data. Eddie refuses sexual and romantic conversation in character; that refusal has not yet had an independent review, so the prohibition in this section remains the operative one. The beta is English-only.
VR Eddie may integrate with third-party services including social media platforms (X/Twitter, Reddit, YouTube), payment processors (Stripe), email services (Resend), fulfillment and shipping partners, and content management systems. Your use of these third-party services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.
The newsletter is not sending at present, and no subscription is being taken. If it resumes: by subscribing you would consent to receive periodic emails containing VR news, reviews, deals, and updates. You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or visiting our newsletter page.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the Site or email. Your continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
