Overview

Xreal's Project Aura represents the most ambitious AR glasses to date from the brand that popularized affordable smart glasses. Running on Google's Android XR platform with Gemini AI, they feature a 70-degree field of view — the widest Xreal has ever shipped — through micro-OLED displays providing a 215-inch virtual screen at 4 meters.

The glasses use a split-compute design: the lightweight ~80g frames connect to a tethered puck running a Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 Plus processor. The puck doubles as a giant trackpad for mouse-like input. 6DOF spatial tracking, gesture interaction, and environmental awareness make these function as true AR glasses rather than just a screen strapped to your face.
