PlayStation VR2 Setup
Everything you need to go from unboxing to your first VR session. Follow the 7 steps below and you will be up and running in about 30 minutes.
Remove the PSVR2 headset, Sense controllers, and USB-C cable from the box. Plug the single USB-C cable from the front of the headset directly into the USB-C port on the front of your PlayStation 5 console. No separate processor unit is needed.
Turn on your PS5. The console will detect the VR headset and prompt you to install the latest PSVR2 system software. Follow the on-screen instructions and wait for the update to complete before proceeding.
Connect each Sense controller to the PS5 using USB-C cables and charge them fully. While charging, press the PS button on each controller to pair them with the console. A full charge takes about 1.5 hours.
Put on the headset and follow the on-screen eye-tracking calibration. You will be asked to look at a series of dots. Accurate calibration improves foveated rendering performance and enables eye-tracked interactions in supported games.
Use the adjustment dial on the back to tighten the headband. Slide the scope-style visor forward or back for comfort. Rotate the IPD adjustment dial on the top-right of the headset until the image looks sharp for both eyes.
The PSVR2 uses inside-out tracking cameras to scan your room. Follow the prompts to confirm your floor level and play boundary. Make sure the area is well-lit and free of reflective surfaces for the best tracking performance.
Return to the PS5 home screen, navigate to the PlayStation Store VR section, and download a title. Horizon Call of the Mountain is a great starter. Select the game and put the headset on when prompted to jump into VR.
