Apple Vision Pro Setup
Everything you need to go from unboxing to your first VR session. Follow the 7 steps below and you will be up and running in about 30 minutes.
Connect the external battery pack to a power source using the included USB-C cable and charge it to 100%. The battery provides up to two hours of use. You can also use Vision Pro while it is plugged in for unlimited session time.
Power on the device by pressing and holding the Digital Crown. If a software update is available, Vision Pro will prompt you to install it. A stable Wi-Fi connection is required. Updates include important eye-tracking and hand-tracking improvements.
Bring your iPhone (running the latest iOS) close to the Vision Pro. A setup card will appear on your phone screen — tap it to begin. Sign in with your Apple Account, transfer settings, and configure Apple Pay. You can also set up without an iPhone through on-device prompts.
Vision Pro uses a TrueDepth-style sensor to create a Persona (your digital avatar) and set up Optic ID for secure authentication. Follow the on-screen prompts to look at a series of patterns — this calibrates eye tracking at the same time.
Apple Vision Pro ships with a Light Seal and two sizes of Light Seal Cushion. Try both cushions to find the best fit. Thread the headband through the audio straps and use the Digital Crown on the right side to tighten until snug. The display should look sharp edge-to-edge.
Vision Pro uses eye tracking and hand gestures instead of controllers. Look at an element and pinch your thumb and index finger to tap. Pinch and drag to scroll. Pinch with both hands and pull apart to zoom. A guided tutorial walks you through every gesture during first launch.
After setup you land in the visionOS Home View — a spatial grid of app icons floating in your room. Open Safari, Photos, or Apple TV to see spatial computing in action. Visit the App Store to download Vision Pro-native apps and immersive experiences.
