Pimax · released 2026

Pimax Dream Air

Pimax finally delivered a polished, ultra-compact PC VR headset. The Sony 8K micro-OLED panels and ConcaveView pancake lenses deliver a 110° horizontal field of view at only 170g. Early adopters are enthusiastic about image quality.

Valve · released 2019

Valve Index

Once the king, now showing its age. The Index is still loved for its 144Hz, Knuckles controllers, and Lighthouse tracking precision, but the 2019-era resolution and no standalone mode make it harder to recommend over newer options.
